Rheonics Sensor Probes

All Rheonics sensors probes (transducers) have a M12 A-coded connector.

Rheonics Sensor Electronics

All Rheonics sensor electronics (transmitter) have the same terminal block for connecting sensor cable.

Sensor Cable

All cable supplied by Rheonics have 4 twisted pair (8-conductor) with a shield connected to the M12 connector shell.

The photo below shows the blue "intrinsically safe" cable that is used for connecting EX certified sensors. Generally these cables are used along with the provided M12 connector.

The photo below shows the standard sensor cable (Black) that is used for all non-EX sensors. These cables come with a molded straight M12 or Angled M12 (as ordered).

Probe to Electronics connection - sensor cable

Follow the table below to connect the correct color wire to the corresponding terminal - this connection is used when you have a standard (non-EX) sensor. All 8 wires are connected to the terminals on the sensor electronics.

To correctly wire a EX certified sensor over Safety Barriers, follow the instructions in the EX sensor installation manual. Remember sensor probe cannot be directly connected to the sensor electronics for EX certified sensors. You need to always connect sensor probe to the electronics through safety barriers. Refer to the Manual for Installation of ATEX/IECEx certified sensors for complete details.
