Rheonics viscosity and/or density sensor probes are connected to the sensor electronics with a sensor cable. A M12 8-pin connection is used on the sensor probe (SRV, SRD, DVP) and 8 pin-terminal connections is used in the sensor electronics (SME).

Sensor cable and connector options for Standard and EX-certified sensor probe

Rheonics sensors are delivered with a sensor cable as configured in the RFQ (Request for Quotation). Users can define the type (straight or 90° angled), length, and if EX certification (explosive environment) is required.

The sensor cable variants are shown below. All cables are shielded and use the same M12 port with 8 pins, A-coded connector.

1. Standard sensor cable with straight M12 connector

Source special sensor cables locally

In addition to the sensor cables Rheonics can provide, user may at times require an special cable that Rheonics may not be able to provide. Special configurations can vary like requirement of PEEK sheath, PUR sheath, high temperature, armoured, extra heavy duty, etc.

To be compatible with Rheonics sensor probes, a sensor cable should comply with the following. If these specifications are met, user can source cables locally for special needs in consultation with rheonics technical team.

Cable requirements for Rheonics sensor compatibility
14 pair of AWG 23 conductors
2Twisted
3Shielded
4M12-8 A-coded female connector
