Rheonics Mounting Kits
A common application environment for Rheonis inline sensors are open process mixing or storage tank or vessel. When conventional mounting points (such as the tank wall or bottom) are inaccessible—often due to the presence of internal mixers, heating elements, or structural constraints—mounting from the tank lip (or top flange) is the preferred method.
Mounting the probe vertically from the lip minimizes intervention into the tank's primary structure. This configuration is facilitated by Rheonics Mounting Kits (MKT accessories), which are designed to secure and correctly position the probe within the fluid volume.
This mounting approach is particularly recommended for Rheonics SlurrySense, SRV-X5, SRD-X5, SRV-X8, and SRD-X8 sensors.
Rheonics currently offers two variants of Mounting Kits: MKT1 and MKT2.
Mounting Kit MKT1
MKT1 is the adaptable mounting kit variant offered for probe mounting in open tanks. The probe is fixed to the kit by compressing the plastic back ferrule (BF-APC) using a nut (CN-APC). MKT1 allows a variable insertion length (A) of the probe by varying the position of the MKT1 mandrel (MB-APC) along the probe, even after first use. Due to the adaptable positioning of the mandrel, a security ring (MKT1-RG) is placed above the compression nut for safety.

Note
MKT1 is generally delivered assembled, only requiring threading the compression nut and fixing the security ring to the probe. Mounting Kit MKT2
MKT2 is the fixed mounting kit variant. It uses two heat-shrink rings that contract when exposed to high temperatures. After shrinking, the insertion length is set and can only be changed if the rings are cut and new rings are installed.

Note MKT2 is delivered assembled, only requiring compression of the heat-shrink rings by heating with the mandrel at the desired position along the probe.
Mounting Base
The mounting base plate used in both Mounting Kits is made of 304 material and has 10.5 mm holes for mounting on a fixed point (tank’s lip) using bolts; at least four bolts should be used for secure installation. M8 bolts or similar are recommended.
