TABLE OF CONTENTS
Introduction
Rheonics Type-SR sensors — comprising the SRV inline viscometer and the SRD inline density and viscosity meter — are designed for installation in both pipelines and tanks, enabling real-time fluid monitoring and process control.
A range of mounting accessories is available to accommodate diverse installation requirements, including deployment in open tank environments. The TMA-TT is the designated accessory for open-tank installations. Although extended-insertion probe variants are available (SRV-X5, SRV-X8, SRD-X5, SRD-X8), the TMA-TT enables the use of a compact, standard-length probe in conjunction with a commercially available tube to achieve the required insertion depth. This approach offers advantages in terms of configuration flexibility, lead time, and overall cost.
Note: Rheonics TMA-TT is replacing former TMA-34N.

The TMA-TT is a tank mount adapter compatible with all SRV and SRD sensor probes equipped with a G¾" rear thread (designated by the -TT suffix). This rear thread provides the mechanical interface between the probe and the adapter, sealed by an O-Ring of 26×1.5 mm. The TMA-TT is the recommended solution for adapting a standard or short-insertion probe into a long-insertion assembly suitable for open-tank applications.
Technical Specifications:
- Material: Stainless Steel 316L
- Sealing: O-Ring ∅26×1.5 mm (FKM standard; FFKM available)
- Protection bars (TMA-TT-SPS) secured with M4×8 mm screws
- Maximum operating temperature: Governed by the rated limits of the probe and O-Ring materials
- Process connection: G¾" rear thread
- Process connection adapters: AT-TT (½" NPT male), AB-TT (½" NPT female).
The AT-TT and AB-TT accessories allow customers to connect a standard off-the-shelf tube — threaded with either a ½" NPT female or male end — directly to the TMA-TT, achieving the required total insertion length without custom components. Where NPT-threaded tubing is not preferred, Rheonics also offers proprietary extension tubes with a G¾" thread connection.
Compatible Probes
Compatibility with the TMA-TT requires the -TT probe designation, which indicates the presence of a G¾" rear thread. This configuration is available across nearly all SRV and SRD probe variants, with the exception of the -X6 Slimline and -X7 Reactor Probe. Notably, all -X8 probe variants incorporate this rear thread as a standard design feature.
Probes equipped with process connections such as NPT threads, Tri-Clamp fittings, or ANSI flanges may be ordered with the -TT designation, which adds the G¾" rear thread without altering the primary process connection. It should be noted, however, that certain flange configurations may be mechanically incompatible with the TMA-TT-SPS protection bars.
The next figure shows an SRV-X3-15T-TT probe (1.5” Tri-Clamp flange with G3/4” rear thread).
